Senior Manager, Procurement (Non-Merchandise)
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager of Procurement to oversee the strategic sourcing and procurement of non-merchandise items for our retail stores. This role is critical in optimizing costs, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the highest quality standards for fixtures, lighting, and other essential equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing:Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for non-merchandise categories, including fixtures, lighting, signage, and store equipment.
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and establish strong partnerships.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify cost-effective and innovative solutions.
- Procurement Operations:Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring efficient and timely execution.
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including store operations, construction, and design, to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Cost Management:Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to achieve significant cost savings and optimize the procurement budget.
- Implement cost-reduction strategies, such as volume discounts, vendor consolidation, and alternative sourcing options.
- Monitor market trends and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Supplier Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable delivery, quality, and pricing.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address any issues promptly.
- Develop supplier performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve supplier performance.
- Risk Management:Identify and mitigate potential risks, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and vendor failures.
- Implement contingency plans to minimize the impact of unforeseen circumstances.
- Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on non-merchandise categories.
- Proven track record of successful negotiations, cost reduction, and supplier relationship management.
- Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and supply chain principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
